Talking about the Colombian free trade agreement, "If we fail to pass this agreement, we will embolden the purveyors of false populism in our hemisphere."
He said that so slowly and deliberately. Good job, Bushie - pure gold!

Pet Names
Not Carson, but...I'm sure I do, I think most people do - call others, friends and strangers, some all-inclusive name. Dude, man, chief, honey, sweetie, babe, chica, etc. Well, when did it become acceptable to call grown men, coworkers, "buttercup?" I was called that twice the other day, and then I noticed her calling others the same thing. She's probably early 30s.
Thinking about it, the pet-name we use most frequently probably says something about the way we see ourselves. "Dude" and "man" say, "We're in this together" or imply that we're on the same level. "Sir," I better not step out of line. But "buttercup," that sounds like, "You belong in a sunflower print jumper with pretty bows in your hair." From then on, her speech was all nails on the chalkboard.
---I accept that this may have been the most poorly constructed post I've ever submitted.

WOW!
-as in Wide Open West.

Great speed, great rates. I'm paying a little over $65 for basic cable and 4.0 Mbps internet.

'08 Election
I just used www.glassbooth.org to identify my most like-minded candidates. My 1,2,3 are Giuliani, Romney, and Duncan Hunter. Hopefully one of them is still in the race when Ohio has its primary.

We Arrived!
We got to our hotel, and I found out that it is actually in the 9th Ward. Thanks for the research, Mike. The view is spectacular...not in a good way. But the room is decent, and there are tons of Buckeye fans, so it can't be all bad, right?
