Dinner Time

The crazy crazies happen when Daddy gets to feed the baby.

Speed of Sound

I heard some loud booms tonight, so when I went outside I tried to find the source. Looking over to the NE, I saw some flashes, but the sound was very delayed. I timed the gap and got 8.65 seconds. Then, remembering that this weekend is VII Hills Home Days, I did some quick calculations, found that the source of the sound should be ~1.82 mi away. Then I jumped on Google Earth and measured the path to Seven Hills Community Complex. Guess what...their ball fields (the most logical place to launch) are precisely 1.82 miles away. I love it when math works out.

Haircut

I cut my own hair today. I think I did a good job. Special thanks to Brian for letting it happen. I magnetized him to my shower curtain and he licked my ear the entire time. Thanks.

To celebrate being in between semesters - if only for a weekend - the family had a busy busy Saturday. We started early, (thanks Ella) and went to Overlook Beach Park in MOL so Carson could go swimming. Once his feet touched the sand, he pulled harder than I'd ever felt before, to the point I could no longer hold on. Once free, he went bounding into the surf. That boy loves the water. We tossed the stick for about an hour then went to Ella's G&G's where we had lunch, and then the humans went swimming. This was Ella's first time, so we loaded up on pictures. (The blessings of being a first child.)
After we dried off, Stacy and I got a little nap, which prepared us for our evening camping over Care's house. Carson was able to avoid being mauled by the devil-cat who had just the day before claimed another victim. (Sorry Sarah)
A couple burgers and countless S'mores later, we returned home about midnight. Carson has been sleeping ever since, and Ella woke us twice overnight. I'd hate to disrupt her schedule.
