Baptism

Thanks for coming to Ella's baptism. She really had a great time, and she apologizes if she didn't get a chance to talk to you, she was a bit tired after being up all night trying to decide what to wear.

Thanks to all who helped out - cooking, buying, shooting, arranging, straightening sugar packets - it all made a huge difference. Apparently this wasn't everyone else's first go-round...I walked out of the church and into the hall to find everything already laid out looking great.

I keep smelling Ella's head; I don't know where St. Anthony's gets their chrism, but I swear they must have gotten it at Aveda in their aromatherapy section. That smells so good! I could totally get a massage with that oil, the unconsecrated kind.

He's baaaaaaaaack

The fox was back, and Brian got to hear it, but it was too far away to photograph.

Bloody Murder

I'll just assume that you've never heard a red fox screaming at a house cat. Be glad it's the case. There has been a fox hanging around this area the past couple nights. Carson is a bit unnerved by the new creature. When I heard it tonight, I had no clue what the noise could be...possibly a feral child? I got out the trusty flashlight (and Glock) and illuminated a red fox, SCREAMING at a house cat in my neighbors yard. I hope she didn't have her hearing aid in, otherwise she would be calling the police on the fight in her back yard.

I'd look to see if any websites have animal calls, but I'm 90 minutes late to bed as it is.

Lightroom

I was playing around with Adobe Lightroom and made this picture gallery. I've yet to come up with a clever use for it, but anyways: http://www.thedigitaledge.net/gallery/carson/

Oddly, that site crawls when I access it with Firefox, but works great in IE. Any thoughts?

79 and Sunny

You better have done something wonderful with your day. Stacy and I took the family for a walk, then Chipotle'd before going to our baptism class at St. Anthony. Then we went to a classmate's home for a fundraiser for his daughter with Transverse Myelitis. While there, we won a Melaleuca basket. I was pumped, but Stacy was less than thrilled...of all the baskets, she wins the cleaning supplies! BUT, we found some sugar scrub in there, so our hands are very soft and citrus smelling. THEN, we made it to Life Teen on time, and finally it was back home where I made dinner.

If I could remember a cute story that happened today, I'd tell you here. I'm sure something happened, feel free to ask Stacy.

Not So Prompt

Giselle told me, after being criticized for her chronic tardiness, "Just wait till you have kids, you'll see." Naturally, I don't want to be shown up, so I try to leave extra early to be on time. So I was quite proud when we rolled up to church 15 minutes early today...to see the last 5 people receive communion. Someone forgot to tell me that Life Teen moved from 6:00 to 5:00. Well, we stuck around to say hi to Rob and the Sakis present. Live and learn.

Snow Belt

I wish I was kidding, but we seriously have over 12 inches of snow that has fallen over the last 48 hours. Fortunately, the ground was somewhat warm and much melted before it could accumulate, but that fortune has passed, and now whatever falls sticks. I used to get real upset when we had these storms in winter, but with the prospect of warmer (melting) weather less than a week away, I can cope much better. I think the snow blower will stay in the garage...if only just to say to Old Man Winter, "You didn't beat me!"

We went to Mentor this afternoon for an early Easter, and when we got there, there was a TRACE of snow. The lawns were 90% green. It was appalling. They're the snowbelt...I'm on the west side, it's not supposed to happen like that. On our way home, we didn't hit 30 mph the whole time on the freeway. Hopefully, the weather clears enough that we can see Rob in Medina tomorrow, otherwise it's Padua for us. Happy Easter!
