D-Ca

For real now...hearing Barbara Boxer speak makes me wonder how anyone could hold her up as a leader. She is a real nut. She's gluttonous with her time at the podium, unconvincing with her speech, and overly melodramatic. She's showing pictures of strawberry bushes with snow on them, and avocados with icicles on them, all the while demonizing the President for not being outraged, claiming he is turning his back on "salt-of-the-earth people" for not giving them more money. Call it the Katrina effect - give a more than generous response to a natural disaster, and now porkers are trying to categorize every flood and early freeze as a cataclysmic event. The killer is that when she's showing pictures of these cold California fruits, she's talking like she's just seen pictures of babies having their brains sucked out (oh wait, she's for that).

Big Day

Granted I'm posting at 05:30, but yesterday Ella Bella slept through the whole night! 10:30-7:30! How awesome is that? Now it's just a matter of tweaking her schedule. Tonight, she slept from about 9-5, so we just need to keep her up a couple hours more. Happy days are ahead!

Geez

Seems like everyone is posting their picture of Bubba. Apparantly, I saw it from a different angle.

You want more?

Strange - to see Rob via his webcam doing my puzzle. It seems it was a hit, so with your permission, I will bring back a new puzzle sometime soon. If I don't, be sure to throw something at me. Now it's time to sneak off to bed without waking my two princesses!

She even got to wear her first pair of shoes today! Thanks, Sabreena. Check those things out! She's got a doctor's appointment later, I think she's getting some shots: we'll probably have to keep Stacy out of the room. Then some other things later and maybe something else tonight - busy busy!

Busy Saturday

Today was busy from start to finish. Got to Mom and Dad's (late) for an awesome spread and great company. It was great to see everyone there. We missed Mike though, I think he is the only one now who hasn't seen Ella. I hope he learned lots at his Pinewood Derby meeting. When we finished there, our little family went over a BPD friend's house and visited with her for a little while to catch up on the gossip. Then it was to D&G's for cards. Stacy and Giselle had some girl time while the boys played cards till whenever. They may still be playing...I left at 2:30. Martin is always welcome at my card parties! Jing me!

We took Ella for her first walk today. Aside from Carson flatly refusing when we asked him to pull the stroller up the hill (a reasonable request), everything was perfect. The weather was incredible, the paths were plowed, and the snow was perfect for snowballs. We try to get Carson out of the house as much as possible, but it's not nearly enough. Then we went shopping for some new mommy clothes at Old Navy, and tonight it's Fish Fryday at sjnohio.

Also, Ella fit into an outfit today that she couldn't wear when she was born. All evidence points to growth. --AB

Night Out

We celebrated completion of the first session of school today. Granted, it's only the first session of the first semester, but a milestone nonetheless. This morning, we went out to breakfast with the whole class. Naturally, they loved the little peanut. Then tonight, Becky watched Ella while we went out. Last time we had a babysitter, we were back faster than Lenscrafters. We learned our lesson, and this time went to a movie and dinner. Man, did we need that!

Family Nap Time

Originally uploaded by abardwell.

Since having our precious daughter we have decided that we need family nap time at least once a day to keep everyone sane. All four of us are up on the bed; Andrew, myself, Ella and Carson. When it is all four of us I always get the short end of the deal and end up squished up in the corner curled up in a ball since there is no room anywhere else. Since that is not the most comfortable position I did not sleep today and decided to watch my daughter sleep instead. Let me tell you, my daughter is the cutest person ever. She is now smiling in her sleep (thinking of her puppy I am sure) and when she stretches she looks like a little person, not just a baby! My little peanut will be one month tomorrow, where did the time go?
